Wandele naor Schandele is committed to the fight against cancer. Every year, a different local cause that ties in with this mission takes centre stage. This year, Wandele naor Schandele is once again supporting two special causes: Kankerpraat and Kus van Kiki.
Kankerpraat
A cancer diagnosis turns your life upside down. The Cancer Talk Foundation is there for people who want to share their story but don’t always know with whom. Volunteers with personal experience offer a listening ear and genuine attention through personal conversations. Sometimes, a single meaningful conversation can be invaluable. With the proceeds from Wandele naor Schandele, we want to help make these conversations possible!
Kus van Kiki
After the death of Kiki Toll, who developed liver cancer at the age of 14, friends and family founded Kus van Kiki. During her illness, Kiki had already made it her mission to help other children with cancer, and with this foundation, her loved ones are continuing that wish. The foundation is committed to research, better treatments and extra support for children and their families. We at Wandele naor Schandele are happy to contribute to this!
Charity 2025
In 2025, we raised a total of €10,000 for the Shared Care Centre for paediatric oncology at VieCuri Medical Centre in Venlo. This money was used to purchase VR headsets for children undergoing treatment. These allow them to play games, watch films or do relaxation exercises, significantly reducing stress, anxiety and pain. Thanks to this support, children with cancer and their families can count on better care and a more pleasant treatment process, closer to home. We are extremely pleased to have been able to contribute to this!

Wandele naor Schandele zet zich in voor de strijd tegen kanker. Ieder jaar staat er weer een ander lokaal doel centraal dat aansluit bij deze missie. Dit jaar zet Wandele naor Schandele zich weer in voor een bijzonder doel: het Shared Care Centrum voor kinderoncologie in VieCuri Medisch Centrum Venlo.
2024 - Team kus van Kiki
In Nederland krijgen ieder jaar ongeveer 600 kinderen de diagnose kanker. Helaas overleeft momenteel 1 op de 5 kinderen dit niet. Op 14-jarige leeftijd kreeg Kiki Toll de diagnose leverkanker. Gedurende haar ziekteperiode zette Kiki zich in voor goede doelen rondom kinderkanker. Toen Kiki op 16-jarige leeftijd overleed is door vrienden en familie Team Kus van Kiki opgezet, om haar wens om andere kinderen met kanker te helpen voort te zetten.
Namens de deelnemers van Wandele naor Schandele 2024 mochten we uiteindelijk een cheque overhandigen aan Team Kus van Kiki van maar liefst €7.500,-. Met de opbrengst kan Stichting Kinderen Kankervrij (KiKa) weer stappen zetten in hun onderzoek naar kinderkanker. Samen maken we het verschil!
