S.O.B. Senior matinee

On the Thursday before the Venloop weekend, the spotlight will once again shine on the senior participants during the S.O.B. Senior matinee! In cooperation with senior citizen organisations KBO Limburg and SOB Venloop, we are planning a programme full of entertainment and fun. This “experience day” for seniors will have an active, but also informative, character and will keep visitors entertained all afternoon. A great day for all – and not to be missed! This year’s theme is: digitalisation.

The S.O.B. Senior matinee will take place at the Ewals Cargo Care Pavilion, which has been specially constructed for the Arrow Venloop in the Julianapark, Venlo. The entrance is on the Deken van Oppensingel side. Various activities are organised every year. The programm in 2024 featured a balance test by Funqtio, various exercise activities and Joekskoer Toujour came to set the mood. It was an unforgettable and enjoyable day!

Theme of the afternoon: digitalisation

Today’s focus is on digitisation, a topic that increasingly affects our daily lives. Whether it’s arranging banking over the internet, keeping in touch with family via video calls or using apps for health and leisure – the digital world offers plenty of opportunities. At the same time, it can also sometimes feel complicated or overwhelming. During this edition of the S.O.B. Seniors’ Matinee, we take you step by step into the world of digitisation. In an accessible and interactive way, you will discover how you can easily keep up with these developments, how to be safe online and how digital tools can make life easier and more fun. There is plenty of room to ask questions and share experiences. Together, we will make the digital world a little more familiar!

Location & Time

The S.O.B. Senior Matinee will be organised in the Ewals Cargo Care Pavilion, which can temporarily be found in the Julianapark in Venlo. Walk-in at the Ewals Cargo Care Pavilion is from 12:30 p.m. and the program starts at 1 p.m.

Our partners will each inform and explain digitalisation in their own way. The parters you can expect this afternoon are: Arriva, Library Venlo, De Zorggroep, Gilde Opleidingen, Funqtio, KBO, SOB Venlo, Venlo.fit, Wensbus, Silverfood and Univé.

Registration Senior matinee 2025

From 1 August 2024, you can register for the S.O.B. Senior matinee using the button below. The registration fee is €7.50 p.p. This includes a delicious slice of Limburgse vlaai and a cup of coffee. Members of the KBO or SOB receive a further €1.50 discount when they register.

Public transport

As parking spaces at the Julianapark are limited, we recommend travelling by public transport. Both Venlo’s train and bus stations are only a stone’s throw from the Julianapark. 

In fact, we have a special offer for all visitors to the S.O.B. Senior matinee: the journey can be made completely free of charge with Arriva buses. When you register for the S.O.B. Senior matinee, you will receive your Arriva admission ticket just before the event. In addition, Arriva itself will also be present at the S.O.B. Senior matinee to answer all your questions regarding public transport and provide information on how easy OVpay actually works.
