Time to do something in return. The Big Clean Up
An estimated 50 million kilos of litter ends up on the street or in green spaces every year in the Netherlands. Litter is incredibly bad for nature, animals and people too! It pollutes the soil, animals can get trapped and suffocate in the waste or they eat it. And in this way microparticles can end up in our food. These are just a few examples of the damage caused by litter.
During our walks and running events, we enjoy our wonderful surroundings and the beautiful nature that Venlo has to offer. Time to do something in return!
So Stichting Venloop is organising another big clean-up campaign this year. We will collect litter in and around Venlo during a walk. This year The Big Clean Up will take place during the National Climate Week, on Saturday 16 November from 09:00-12:00.
Together with our walkers and runners and the support of ACS Cleaning, we will collect litter and make Venlo a little cleaner again. Will you do your bit to help us keep Venlo clean?
We will provide the materials needed to clean up litter, such as litter pickers, gloves and litter bags. And of course a treat afterwards to thank you. All you need to do is sign up.
